We had another super awesome week here in Apopa. New Years Eve we ate 6 pans of con pollo (chicken). We didn't even plan on eating, but the people just love giving chicken in bread to the missionaries. We baptized Merlin and Brenda. They are the sweetest little people and were super excited to get baptized. Their brother is a recent convert too, but the missionaries before never taught in their house so never got to know the rest of the family. If you didn't notice in the picture the kid that baptized his sisters also baptized Adonay the convert of a couple of weeks ago.
Baptism! Super great family. The brother baptized his sisters. The mom is still reluctant.
The hope for Familia Martinez is still alive. It has been miraculous teaching them. They went to the baptism and to church yesterday and are still super excited. They dad is the head of the household and it looks like if he gives in, the rest of the family will follow suit and get baptized. Oh and another twin. The evil twin that's not so evil, of one of the kids now lives with them and he wants to get baptized also! Please pray for them; specifically that they can overcome some doubts about the Book of Mormon and receive a confirmation that they are prepared to be baptized!
These weeks have been super special for me. I haven't been baggy (trunky) much at all because we are super busy with these families. But then my companion and the other Elders are super kind to remind me that I only have a couple of weeks left.
I love you all. love Elder Flake
Elder Castro, Andrew's companion.
Taking care of Mario!
Happy New Year from the Roof top
