Chopping a Tree and Fingers

Yep I m writing early to go and hang out with the zone for p-day.

Wow a lot happened up here this past week. Sorry Mom about your knee and Dawson with your hand! But that's good to hear your still doing Zumba, mom. That's cool. It's funny to hear the two accounts of dads misfortune with the backhoe. From poking a hole, to running a tree through the radiator. But good to hear the old Case 580 C is running well.

So we had a really good week but with some misfortune too. Let me explain. So we put the saying "Dont worry about the numbers, just serve" to work and literally every day this week we had a service project. From macheteing the weeds to cutting down trees, to pumping water from the well for this lady, to eradicating tarantulas from this guys house. It was awesome!

So  Tuesday we  cut down this huge tree and were chopping it up with machetes when Elder Banegas yelled and I looked over and his hand was red with blood. So me,  being me, started freaking out and running around in circles. But luckily we were with the other elders in the ward and one had studied nursing and sealed up his deep wound on his pinky with super glue! We went to the doctor and he got two stitches.

Later on Saturday, we were walking with the same attitude to serve people. We walked past this couple that was chopping stuff with machetes. We stopped and helped them for a while, when they happened to let us in and teach. And they happened to be the aunt and uncle of Ivania, our convert who lives 3 doors down, and they happened to come to church with us and want us to continue visiting with them. Wow! How effective service is, softening the hearts of the people!

In summary for this week, Service is indispensable, machetes are sharp, and the church is true!
    Love Elder Flake
